Receive Certification in Adult and/or Youth Mental Health First Aid

1 in 5 Americans has experienced a mental health challenge, but many are reluctant to seek help or do not know where to turn for care. Mental Health First Aiders learn a 5-Step Action Plan that guides them through the process of reaching out and offering appropriate support.

The Arc Upper Valley is offering 4 one-day virtual sessions in Adult Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid. Each session begins with 2 hours of online pre-course work that must be completed prior to each live training session. You may elect to take 1 one-day training, either Adult or Youth Mental Health First Aid, or you may elect to take both one-day trainings.

  • Adult Mental Health First Aid: Teaches people how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge in adults 18 and over.
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid: Teaches parents, family members, caregivers, and professionals how to identify, understand and respond to an adolescent (ages 12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.

This course is valued at $170 per participant. These sessions are being offered for FREE thanks to a sponsorship from Altru Health System TEARS program. Space is limited to 15 participates per session. Social Work CEU's will be available for each session.
